Charolette's Web

#3:  I think Templeton is at first a villain, but throughout the story he becomes a hero.  When he first mets Wilbur, he's rude and doesn't wait to mention the smokehouse.  However, he becomes good friends with Wilbur and Charlotte, too.  Templeton and Charlotte help Wilbur from ending up as Christmas dinner by thinking up and writing inspirational words about Wilbur.  Templeton saw what an impact Wilbur had on the town, and this caused him to have change of heart. Due to his change of heart, and his actions in the later parts of the story, I find him to be more of a hero than a villain.

A Day No Pigs Would Die blog #1

My dog Buddy is one of a kind.  He is a Bishon-Poo (poodle) and is five years old.  Buddy shares a birthday with my dad!  He is both loveable and adorable.  Unfourtunately, he uses his intellegence to commit bad doggie crimes!  However, he is easily forgiven with his big puppy eyes. Buddy can be a good friend at times.  For example, you know how a friend can tell you're having a bad day?  Well, Buddy can sense my emotions and normally licks my hand or sits by me for company when I am down.  As you can see, Buddy is a lovable dog and is this girl's best friend!

Leslie's point of view:D

Tom and Leslie walked down the hallway together.  Leslie was giving him advice on how to go about asking Sarah to homecoming.  She suggested that he act naturally and that he not over do it.  Tom then saw Sarah walking through the halls to class.  As she passed by, he nervously smiled at her.  Leslie could tell that Tom was trying, but she told him that what he just did was extremely creepy.  Leslie continued on about his lack of social skills, especially with girls.  She told him he should kiss his luck with girls goodbye if his skills didn't improve soon.

Sarah smiled back at Tom and rushed down the hallway to get to class.   Sarah sat at lunch alone, trying not to think about the fact that she was losing her crush to her best friend.  Lunch soon ended, and Sarah made her way to her locker.  Before Tom walked over there, Leslie gave him last minute pointers.  She then wished him the best of luck and told him not to mess up.
Tom approached Sarah at her locker.  He smile and asked her how her day was going.  Sarah responded, just to be nice, since she thought her date to homecoming was being taken by her best friend.  He began to stutter as he started talking again.  He managed to say that Sarah was a very good friend of his and was wondering if she'd be his date to the dance.  Sarah looked up at him and said yes with the biggest smile on her face.  Tom wipped the sweat off of his forehead and walked Sarah to her next class.

Halloween Poem :D

Halloween

'Twas the night before Halloween, with a scream and a shout,
Doorbells will soon be ringing, and candy will be passed out.

Costumes have been chosen with a goblin's best care,
And great excitement is building everywhere!

The children were so excited and did not want to go to bed,
Because thoughts of favorite candies were dancing in their heads.

Finally, the night past and Halloween was here,
Tummies were excited, for yummy candy was near.

Out the door with a jump and happily down the street,
Witches and goblins went out for a treat.

With a "Boo" and a shout they went down the road,
Getting tired of carrying their heavy, heavy load.

Thank you and good night, they gave out a yell.
Did they trick anyone?  Oh, they'll never tell!

                                                            Dreams
George and Lennie's dream consisted of a house with a few acres of land with cows, pigs, and to be able to live off the fat of the land.  They were going to have rabbits in cages and a garden.  Also, they mentioned looking forward to the cream from the milk being so thick that you could hardly cut it.  Their dream also consisted of a vegetable patch and chickens.  They decided that they wouldn't have to work.  Instead, they would build a fire in the stove and set around it and listen to the rain coming down on the roof.

During the Depression, I think George came up with the idea so Lennie and he would have something to think about other than finding work or finding a meal.  It was a way to give them a sense of joy throughout their day to know that these hard days would soon be over.  I think people should have dreams for the furture.  Otherwise, they wouldn't be able to look forward to something or accomplish something that might make them feel good about themselves.  When others doubt their dreams, they're often optimistic of what might come out of them.  For example, if you wanted to become an actress, but doubted yourself just because you thought others were better than you, it would ruin your thoughts of doing anything competitive.  If dreams go unfulfilled for long periods of time people often forget about them and it becomes something of the past.  It might be better to hold onto an unrealistic dream rather than reality because you know that nothing will go wrong.  However, with reality some of your dreams might not come true, but something might come from certain experiences.
